How To Properly Winterize Your Motorcycle
Usually, motorcyclists love to be outside in the sun…but it’s not the same when the winter comes around. Not only does the sun seem to hibernate much longer, but it can become chillier, wet, and even dangerous on the road.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should just put your bikes up for the entire winter season. In fact, there are a couple of ways that you can “winterize” your bike.
Minimally, you should make sure that your battery is adequate and a great fuel system. If you already have a fuel injection system, we recommend adding a stabilizer to allow less air in your tank. For your battery, unplug your negative terminal or use a smart battery/charger so that your battery will not drain down while it’s sitting.
If you want to get fancy, you can also add a full detailed wash to avoid deterioration over the winter. You can store the bike up on a mount so that your tires don’t become warped with the cold weather. Finally, top your bike off with a nice oil change and a clean sheet to cover!
